Ziploc Bag Marinated Chicken Legs Recipe with Cajun Spice

Ziploc Bag Marinated Chicken Legs Recipe with Cajun Spice ā€“ This grilled chicken recipe comes together in just a few minutes, feeds a whole family and is so delicious you will want to make it again!

This is my recipe for those busy weeknights, when you have to prepare dinner and you feel too tired for long preparations or stovetop captivity cooking ;). These juicy chicken drumsticks are so good with the smokey flavors of the grill throughout, and are absolutely delicious , though the preparations is ridiculously pretty easy !!

Let’s summarize the recipe below and you will know what I mean šŸ™‚

Step 1 : Wash and clean the drumsticks with cold water and pat it dry with kitchen paper towel. Slit some cuts in the thick part of the chicken so that some spices mix gets infused inside the drumsticks too.

Step 2 : In a small bowl, mix all the dry ingredients- turmeric, cajun spice, kashmiri mirch powder or Paprika , red chilly powder or cayenne, salt and ground black pepper. Add it into a large Ziploc bag and then add the chicken drumsticks. Close the Ziploc bag, making sure that there is no air inside the bag. Shake it vigorously so that all the chicken legs are coated with the spices mix on all sides. This is the first marinade.

Step 3 : In another small bowl, add mustard oil, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste. Mix it well and then pour it into the Ziploc bag. Close the Ziploc bag so that it is airtight. Shake the Ziploc bag again, so that the drumsticks are coated well on all sides with the marinade. Open and check. Continue shaking till the chicken legs are well coated.

And that’s it !! All work is done and now you just need to turn on the oven and bake the chicken in the preheated oven. Place the Ziploc bag in fridge and let it marinade for about 20 or 30 minutes, while your oven is getting preheated (at 425 degrees F). You can also leave it to marinade overnight and cook the next day. Bake for about 35 – 40 minutes, depending upon the thickness of the chicken, or until the chicken is cooked through.
